A Quick Guide to Vaping
Welcome, fellow vapers, to Blackhouse Vapor Co.’s inaugural blog! We are incredibly excited to share this resource with you, and hope that you find it to be informative! Today’s topic is a how-to on the ins-and-outs of proper Vaping; After all, we were all newbies to this at one point!
To that end, the following is a list of steps to help get you up and vaping like a champion in no time!
Choosing the Right Vape Device
Picking the right device is enormously important to having an enjoyable vaping experience. Always pick the device that speaks to you personally, but keep a few things in mind. If you are brand-new to vaping, it is recommended that you invest in a solid, user-friendly vape device; preferably an entry-level electronic mod that comes with in-unit regulation, variable temperature and wattage control. Look for extra features that will increase the mod’s safety, like internal over-charge protection or reverse-battery protection.
If you are a more experienced vaper, it is recommend that you look for high-performance features to really take your vape experience to the next stage. Things like super-sub-ohm capability, high-quality chipsets and bypass/TC modes will be what you are looking for on regulated mods. However, if you have made the jump to fully mechanical mods, you will want to be looking for high-quality build materials, attention to craftsmanship, design innovation and extra features. Ideally, you will want to pick up a mod that is made of highly conductive materials (close-to-pure silver or copper is best). Lastly, you’ll want to do your best make sure that your mechanical mod is AUTHENTIC, and not a cloned device. Clones are not made to the same demanding standards as their authentic counterparts, and can range from being generally sub-par quality to out-right dangerous.
At Blackhouse, we make sure to consistently stock a wide range of vaping devices: From user-friendly, low maintenance beginner mods to top-of-the line, ultra-high performance mechanicals, we make sure we have the device for your individual skill level and knowledge base!
There are two main types of vaping liquids; propylene glycol (PG) based, and vegetable glycol (VG) based liquid. The first carries more flavor and is thinner, and usually contains some level of nicotine (which can be scaled up or down based on personal preference). PG liquids are ideal for when you are trying to quit smoking, as they allow you to enjoy plenty of robust flavor while offering a high range of nicotine options; this allows the user to start at a level close to what they are used to from analog smoking devices then gradually work their way to juice with lower levels of nicotine (or even nicotine-free juice).
VG liquids are more viscous and produce denser, more voluminous clouds of vapor . They do not carry flavor quite as well as PG-dominant juices, but their flavors tend to be clearer and more true in taste to their real-life counterparts. This is ideal for when you want to experience the sheer enjoyment of playing around with large clouds of vapor (let’s be honest, it’s just plain fun)! People who formerly smoked lots of hookah will probably find PG liquids more to their liking, for example, as it produces a similar amount of cloud without the rough throat-hit.
Blackhouse Vapor proudly makes and carries it’s own line of house-developed e-liquids. All of our e-juices are Max VG and are designed to deliver clear, full-bodied flavor in addition to superior cloud production.
Preparing the Vaping Setup
Each vape device generally has a reservoir or tank which is filled up with e-liquid. If you have a brand-new device, make sure that there are no foreign particles or dust in the tank before filling it up, and make sure to check your atomizers for any debris. If you are refilling a tank, always fill it up with the same general type of liquid ( fruit liquid to another fruit liquid, cake liquid to another cake, etc). This will ensure that your flavor don’t become muddled or cross-contaminated.
Charging and Miscellaneous Mechanisms
Get used to all the controls of the vape device before firing it up by thoroughly examining the user manual, or ask an experienced vaper to assist you. This will ensure you don’t ruin your first experience, and more importantly your vape device. Additionally, set the temperature/wattage (if applicable) to the lowest recommended setting for your first vape- This way you can scale up to your preferred amount of vapor production. If you ever wonder what the range of your tank is, check on the sides of your atomizer. It is a common practice these days for tank makers to laser-engrave the devices’ ideal watt range directly onto their atomizers.
Following are the steps to taking your first pull:
- Put one finger on the fire button without pressing it and bring the drip-tip/mouthpiece to your mouth.
- Press the fire button and simultaneously inhale at an even pace, to ensure smooth mouth-to-lung vapor travel. Inhaling too quickly can result in an inadequate pull, and inhaling too slowly can result in a overly-dense hit, which leads to coughing fits. Go at your own pace here, every person experiences this differently!.
- Release the fire button when you are reaching the max capacity of your lungs and take your mouth off the mouthpiece.
- Exhale from your diaphragm, and savor the delicious flavor!
